Orange Square visits Cannes TFWA Duty Free & Travel Retail Global Summit 2019

 Every year the Orange Square management team; Chris Hawksley, Nicky Valentine and Matt Ziaja, head down to Cannes in the South of France to the TFWA Duty Free and Travel Retail Global summit at the beginning of October, for an intensive discovery of all the exciting newness that our fragrance brands have to share with us for launch in 2020. As well as meeting with potential new brands that are interested in launching in the UK, it is a great opportunity for them to meet up with fellow global distributors in other territories and the buyers from major UK retailers including Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges to discuss forthcoming space and location possibilities, all in a sunny and relaxed vibe.

 

This year the team celebrated Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s 10th anniversary with Marc Chaya and Francis Kurkdjian at the Martinez penthouse suite which overlooks the Cote d’Azur. A glamorous setting that blended celebration with serious business discussions, this meet up gave us the opportunity to meet the US and head quarter teams and to share new launches within the A La Rose collection. Next year the team will join LVMH at their “beach club” where all meetings take place.

This annual conference also gave management the perfect opportunity to catch up with the Creed team. Exhibiting at the TFWA show this year, Creed Fragrances shared the new home collection range – 5 new scents in room spray and candle formats, exclusively for boutiques and large shop-in-shops. They will also soon be announcing new and exciting launches for both men and women in June 2020. The team enjoyed a relaxed dinner with Erwin & Olivier Creed in one of their favourite restaurants, discussing business matters and the exciting forthcoming 10th anniversary of Aventus.

 

In other news, Romano Ricci and his sister, Antina, hosted a launch party for their new 2020 collections, including further launches to Not a Collection and some top secret core collection launches which will be revealed very shortly.

Alberto Morillas and his daughter shared the new Mizensir collection, including an exclusive Harrods launch in the UK with a fantastic powerful version of Perfect Oud, called Goldern Oud. Ramon, his daughter Laura, and son Oscar also unveiled an exciting launch for 2020.
