The Orange Square Company is a successful privately owned family business that was created to meet consumer’s desire for luxurious, creative or artisan perfumery.

We only work with the finest independent noses in the world who have created their own unique vision and interpretations for their high-end consumers, each with an authentic brand story to tell. Visionaries striving for excellence in the quest for quality in their work,  who in doing so are creating legacies for their own family businesses.

This sector of the fragrance market is in huge growth and we are recognised for innovating and adapting constantly to keep ahead of the curve. We specialise in supporting niche luxury perfume brands. Each one is known for its unique heritage, unmistakeable fragrance or original concept. We introduced Creed, still in independent ownership to the UK in 1992, and have worked with its creator, Olivier Creed, ever since.

Our portfolio today also includes Caron, Juliette has a Gun, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, MiN New York, Mizensir, Parle Moi de Parfum and Ramon Monegal.

Distribution Strategy

As distribution experts we offer our clients over 25 years of expertise and innovative go-to market strategies in quality department stores for the UK & Eire market in terms of marketing, selected distribution and delivering the ultimate in-store and digital high-end customer expertise.

We distribute our fragrance brands through selected premium retailers. Names like Fenwick, Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, John Lewis Partnership, Liberty, Selfridges and Brown Thomas in Ireland.

We have a standalone flagship boutique in Mount Street, Mayfair, for Creed, and a brand website within the UK, creedfragrances.co.uk.

Marketing & Digital Strategy

We’re equipped to manage the complete sales and marketing strategy, both in-store and online, from the creation of concepts and brand assets, to advising on pricing, digital, CRM, PR, events, media campaigns and in-store permanent builds and promotional sites tailored to each brand’s identity.

In-Store Expertise

Key to our distributor expertise and offering are our network of sales consultants and it’s our privilege to work with the most knowledgeable teams in the business. We recruit and train people ourselves and employ more than 150 fragrance sales professionals, who strive to be the best in class. They offer our end-consumers the chance to dream; to discover a unique olfactive experience, reflective of the wearer and to imagine the possibilities fragrance inspires.

Ultimately we deliver a luxury customer experience through brand storytelling and excellence in customer service.

ABOUT ME

I founded Orange Square with my father, Michael Hawksley, in 1991. My parents had already created Les Senteurs in Belgravia, but we wanted a way to help the fabulous perfumers we were representing reach discerning customers throughout the UK.

I’ve been Managing Director since 2001. Everyone at Orange Square has a stake in the business, and cares passionately about what we do. We’ve worked hard, and can proudly claim to be the UK’s number one distributor of luxury niche fragrances.

In 2019 I was honoured to receive the Cosmetics and Perfumery Retailers Association (COPRA) “Industry Excellence Award” which acknowledged the achievement of everyone in the company who has contributed to making Orange Square the leading independent distributor of luxury niche fragrance in the UK to date.

I moved to Orange Square over a decade ago, after a successful career in fashion retail. I’m obsessive about customer experience, so it’s a pleasure to lead our area managers and retail training teams. Everyone here shares the same goals.

I joined Orange Square in 2016 as Sales & Marketing Director, with a remit to integrate our Sales and Marketing teams. We’ve grown a lot since then, and look after sales, merchandising, digital, creative brand marketing and our retail field network.

It’s my job to lead the team and make sure we generate a good commercial return for ourselves and our partners. Even after more than 25 years building luxury beauty, jewellery and fashion brands, I’m discovering new things every day at Orange Square.

I’ve been part of the Orange Square family since 2013. With a background in both corporate and practice accountancy, I’ve made sure our Finance team has the right mix of financial and management accountants.

Orange Square is growing faster than ever. Since joining, I’ve implemented new financial systems, increased the team’s size and skill-set, and made sure we’re fully compliant with all existing regulations as well as any changes likely to happen in future – the horizon in finance and systems is ever-changing which is always an exciting challenge for us.

ABOUT ME

I joined in 2011, from a background in TV and software.  Orange Square was going through one of its growth spurts and needed someone to overhaul everything and make sure it was fit for the future.

I look after Operational structure. That includes Warehousing, Supply Chain, Business Affairs, IT & Systems and HR. I also launched our first flagship retail site — the Creed Boutique — and managed the relaunch of Les Senteurs. These days we’re busier than ever, but it’s always fabulous fun.

ABOUT ME

I have had an eclectic working life, forging careers in Theatre and Film, Corporate Foreign Exchange and Advertising in the US. But in 2014 we acquired Olverum, and I was invited to lead its expansion.

It’s an iconic brand with a fabulous heritage, and deserves to be more widely known. We’d been distributing it since the late 80s, but as its owners, can now really take things to the next level. My team are busy transforming one product into a best-in-class luxury range available to customers anywhere in the world.
